What is a bike tire boot?
In the broadest sense, a tyre boot is anything you put inside a tyre to cover up the section with the hole in left by a nasty puncture, thus protecting the tube. This can be almost anything, from a dedicated vinyl membrane tyre boot, to a fiver, to an energy gel wrapper, to a chopped up bit of an old tyre.

Get out your tube, pump it up a couple pumps to hold shape, shove it in the tire like your changing a flat normally. As your tube is in and you put the bead back on the rim make sure your boot stays covering the hole and about an inch on either side of the cut. Pump us as normal making sure your boot is holding.
