How do I service my forks?
Clean your forks with water; a hose is best, but if you use a jet wash then turn the bike upside down first so, as not to force water inside the fork seals. Be sure to remove all dirt from the fork stanchions and around the seals, especially between the stanchions and fork arch at the front of the fork.
Why is my fork wobbling?
It’s most likely to be headset tension. Before tightening the stem bolts tighten the top cap bolt until the steering just starts to get stiff then back it off until it’s free and tighten the stem bolts.
How do I know what size my headset is?
Threaded headset sizes are designated by the outer diameter of the steering column. This can seem confusing, because the head cups do not measure the named standard. The threaded standards are 1 inch, 1-1/8 inch, and 1-1/4 inch headsets.
How do you replace fork seals without removing forks?
Yes. Pull the bolt out that secures the cartridge to the lower fork leg and the forks will come apart. Put a seal in with a split type fork seal driver. Then you pull the cap and separate from cartridge to pull the spring to set the fork oil level.
How much does it cost to service rockshox Forks?
Basic service is just that: basic. You will need some tools and supplies which will likely cost you $80-150 depending on what you got and what you want to do. For your annual service, you should do lowers service on the fork and your air can on the rear shock.
