How can I elevate my bike without a stand?
Turning the seat around backwards on its stem may be helpful. I use two high chairs (with straight backrest) With one or two broomsticks inbetween them to hold the bike up. My solution for this is a kickstand. It keeps the bicycle upright with both wheels on the ground.
How do you turn an old bike into a stationary bike?
You can use this until the weather is good enough for riding outdoors again. There are two types of stationary bike stands: a trainer, which clamps the back wheel of the bicycle while the front wheel stays on and is able to move, or a roller bike stand, which elevates the bike, allowing both wheels to spin.

Is it OK to hang a bike by the dropper post?

To avoid scratches, cover the mount with a softer material like pipe insulation or even old socks.
Is it OK to clamp a dropper post?
Can I clamp to the dropper post? Yes. Just make sure you follow these guidelines: Make sure you fully extend your dropper post.
Should you put a kickstand on a mountain bike?
Lastly, unlike a commuter or errand bike, you don’t make a lot of stops on a mountain bike so a kickstand is not as essential. If the mountain bike is being used for a purpose other than mountain biking, then installing a kickstand isn’t really a big deal. They can catch on stuff.
