OFF-ROAD ATB'S
SERIOUS MOUNTAIN BIKES
FOR SERIOUS MOUNTAIN BIKERS
What is an Off-Road ATB?
An Off-Road bike is built to take on whatever the trail has to throw at you. A more aggressive frame geometry gives you the handling required to get you through, and top tube cable routing keeps the shifters working smoother by helping keep the shift wires out of the mud and crud. High quality frame tubing creates a lighter, stiffer and more responsive ride. The addition of suspension, both front and rear, has helped smooth out the roughest trails.
Front suspension ATB's are not only a "must" for off-road riding, they're now the standard. Front shocks come in a variety of makes and models, but they all help keep the front wheel on the ground (this is very good!), and help take some of the shock out of your upper body (also very good!).
Full suspension ATB's come in two types. Cross Country and Downhill. Cross Country bikes are designed to
let you stay in the saddle longer over rougher ground. Even riding through a rough field will keep you standing on
the pedals on a hardtail bike. A Full suspension lets you save your legs as you stay on the seat as you pedal.
